At Studio 646 Architecture, housing is at the heart of what we do. We are a Colorado-based design firm specializing in thoughtful, community-driven housing, from large-scale multifamily developments to custom homes tailored to individual lifestyles.

Our practice is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves well-designed spaces to call home. On one side of our work, we partner with developers, housing authorities, and non-profits to design multifamily housing-including affordable apartments, townhomes, and condo communities- that support the growth and well-being of Colorado’s diverse population. On the other, we collaborate with individual homeowners to design custom residences that reflect their vision, personality, and connection to place.

While the types of projects we take on may differ, our approach remains consistent: respectful collaboration, creative problem-solving, and a deep understanding of the construction process. We believe good design has the power to strengthen neighborhoods and make housing more accessible, beautiful, and enduring.

Studio 646 began when founders Eric and Steve set out to build a practice that combined technical expertise with a love for people and place. What started in an Airstream trailer in a driveway has grown into a talented team of 12, now based in Golden, Colorado.

Though we focus on housing, our portfolio also includes select commercial work such as restaurants and mixed-use spaces. Regardless of scale, we approach every project with care and commitment.

Our team culture values flexibility, family, and balance. We work hard, but we also take time to recharge outside, returning with fresh eyes and new ideas. Located in the foothills of Golden, we draw daily inspiration from Colorado’s spirit of openness and resilience.
