BELMAR GROVES

Nestled in the heart of Lakewood, Colorado, Belmar Groves is more than

just a renovation project—it’s a testament to thoughtful, community-centric

design. Developed by MetroWest Housing Solutions, this project involved the

renovation of 10 residential buildings comprising 118 units, along with the

renovation and expansion of the existing community building and upgraded

outdoor amenities on site.

The residential renovation included a complete reconfiguration of the kitchen,

dining, and living spaces, creating modern, open layouts that enhance natural

light and flow. This design allows all the units to have increased accessibility,

one of the key improvements desired by the development team and residents.

Newly renovated units include upgraded kitchens with new cabinets,

countertops, appliances, and fixtures as well as newly renovated bathrooms

and updated finishes throughout. The exterior of the buildings underwent

significant upgrades, including the removal of mansard roofs to modernize

the look and improve building safety. New exterior materials were selected to

provide an updated aesthetic and longevity.

The community building underwent a complete gutting and redesign, with an

additional 1000 square feet of space added to accommodate new amenities

and resident services. The redesigned community building features inviting

lounge spaces, resident computer labs, and a community kitchenette, providing

residents with areas to relax, work, and connect with their neighbors. An indoor

fitness room was also added, offering residents a convenient space to stay

active.

One of the highlights of this project is the enhancement of the site amenities.

The playground surfacing will be upgraded for improved safety and durability,

and new shaded picnic facilities will be added to encourage community

gatherings. The landscaping will be updated by adding planting beds, new

trees, meandering pathways, and community gardens. These

spaces not only beautify the property but will also provide residents with

opportunities for recreation, relaxation, and connection.
